Movement = Healthy life

campaign aims to raise the profile of the physiotherapy contribution in community, particularly in the prevention of disease and the promotion of good health through physical activity. It follows the steps of move for health campaign which launched by world health organization in 2003 with emphasis on overcoming the financial, cultural and life style barriers to performing physical activities which might exist at the Arab and African countries.

The campaign has three different Phases:

Preparatory Phase:
15th October 2009-31st December 2009.
Activity Phase:
24 months starting from 1st January 2010.
Evaluation and reshape Phase.

Goals:

1- Improve the patients and public awareness of the high importance of physical activity via:

Flyers includes easy exercise guide for variety of people within the community (housekeepers-Factory workers-students etc...)
Open days for public to participate in supervised exercise programmes at the local Physiotherapy clinics.
Organize small groups of Local Physiotherapists at each town to convey the message to their locality (visits to schools-factories-Companies etc...).

2- Convey the following key messages:

Physical activity helps prevent many diseases (e.g. obesity, heart disease, osteoarthritis, cancer and depression).
Physiotherapists are experts in movement and can use their expertise and clinical reasoning to help patients to be physically active to return to normal function and promote healthy life in a safe and way.
Physiotherapists are able to use their knowledge of the causes and processes of disease to educate people on how to avoid them.

Join the campaign:

1- Design a Logo and main flyer of the campaign:
Simple and attractive flyers include the message of the campaign. (contact info@primephysio.com for information)

2- Design exercise guide (in different languages) which suits different groups of People within the community. Our initial target groups are: Factory workers-School students-Housekeepers and office based workers.

3- Make a group of physios within your community to promote the campaign.

4- Inform others about the campaign through emails-face book or word of mouth.

5- Physiotherapy students have a crucial rule by promoting the campaign within their university peers, family and friends.
