Primephysio is an association established in 2006 by group of physiotherapists aiming
to develop the physiotherapy profession in the developing countries through:
1- Organizing funded continuous education courses for physiotherapists.
2- Building links between international physiotherapy institutes /
organizations and their peers in these countries.
3- Raising the public awareness of the physiotherapy profession.
4- Raising the profile of physiotherapy within the health professions.
We believe that it is a right for all the people in the globe to have a better quality of
life and to live without pain. Physiotherapy is a profession that has a great emphasis on
this aspect, it tends to improve the quality of life by keeping our bodies physically fit,
helps restore function, improves mobility, relieves pain and limits, or perhaps even prevents
physical disabilities. We aim to help the physiotherapists in the developing countries to
improve their skills to provide better service and improve the quality of life of their people.
We understand that change needs time; it also needs people who believe in it. The
development of Physiotherapy profession in the developing countries has different
barriers, things like people understanding of the role of the profession, resistance
from other dominant professions and number of well qualified physiotherapists. We hope
our objectives will help our colleagues to overcome some of these barriers. But always
need to remember the change that we hope to achieve will never happen without changing ourselves.
Don't wait for the others to do the change for you:
Be good to yourself and your patients by learning new things that could improve your skills.
Build a good link with other disciplines based on respect and understanding of the others role.
Be an active member within your community, always offer help and advice to people, your skills and knowledge as a physiotherapist are unique and people always benefit from it. This is always a great way to raise the profile of the profession.
