This comprehensive program seamlessly blends on-site intensives with an engaging online component, providing a well-rounded education in women's health. Module A focuses on Bladder & Bowel Health, offering a two-day exploration of assessment and intervention skills. Module B delves into Pregnancy Health over two days, providing specialized insights for managing health during pregnancy. Module C, a one-day session on Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP), covers essential knowledge and management strategies. Attendance of all three modules is required for the full program certificate. The online component covers Pelvic Anatomy, Women's Health in Sports, and Sexual Dysfunction, ensuring a holistic learning experience. This approach equips participants with the competence and confidence needed to make a significant impact on women's well-being. Modules A and B can be attended independently, but together serve as prerequisites to Module C.

Outline: 

This is a comprehensive prgram seamlessly integrates on-site intensives and an engaging online component. Please note that modules A and B may be attended as stand-alone sessions, but together serve as prerequisites to module C. However, the attainemnt of the full program certificate requires the mandates the attendance of all three modules.

Module A: Bladder & Bowel Health 

(A 2-day face-to-face module)


Day 1 introduces the course with an overview of objectives and goals, followed by an in-depth exploration of Pelvic Floor Anatomy and practical examinations. The day progresses to discussions on Musculoskeletal conditions related to Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, stress management, and case scenario analysis. 


Day 2 delves into Urinary Incontinence, covering bladder facts, examination methods, and interventions. Practical activities include bladder diaries and breathing technique labs. The day concludes with an exploration of Bowel Dysfunction, encompassing assessment steps and treatment strategies through hands-on labs. The course wraps up with a case scenario recap to solidify your understanding of Pelvic Health.


Module B: Pregnancy Health 

(A 2-day face-to-face module)


Day 1 commences with an introduction to goals and session plans, emphasizing the role of healthcare professionals pre, during, and post-natal. Practical sessions include the assessment of the pelvic floor, exploration of pregnancy stages, and discussions on precautions and contraindications. Learn how to tailor exercise regimes for each trimester and practice examination techniques and safe manual therapies for pregnant women. The day concludes with a case scenario recap.


Day 2 revisits day 1 through case scenarios and focuses on assessment strategies for various musculoskeletal issues during pregnancy. Engage in labs covering preparation for labor, understanding differences between cesarean and vaginal births, and addressing common postnatal complaints. Explore management strategies for postnatal problems such as episiotomy, diastasis recti, pelvic girdle pain, and incontinence. Discuss the role of physical therapy in preventing prolapses or incontinence post-birth based on evidence. Conclude the two-day session with a comprehensive recap through group discussions on two case scenarios. 


Module C: Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Women's Health in Sports, and Sexual Dysfunction

(1 face-to-face day, 1 online session)


A- Pelvic Organ Prolapse (Face-to-Face)

Throughout this session, participants will achieve a comprehensive understanding of POP by delving into pelvic anatomy, mastering evaluation techniques, and gaining hands-on experience in identifying and grading different stages of POP. The exploration extends to the interplay between Musculoskeletal conditions and POP, incorporating palpation and special tests to discern potential arthrogenic causes. 


Participants will also engage in discussions on the psychological aspects of POP, emphasizing stress management, and apply their knowledge through case scenario discussions. The session places a particular emphasis on evidence-based management strategies and effective patient education to empower healthcare professionals in providing optimal care for individuals experiencing POP. This educational endeavor aims to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge applicable in a clinical context, fostering a deeper understanding of women's health.


B - Sexual Dysfunction (Online)

This virtual session is crafted to provide participants with a nuanced understanding of sexual health challenges affecting women, fostering competence in addressing these concerns remotely. The online format facilitates an in-depth exploration of various forms of women's sexual dysfunction, allowing participants to engage in virtual discussions and comprehend the multifaceted factors contributing to these challenges.


The session also addresses psychosocial aspects, exploring the influences on women's sexual well-being through online discussions and emphasizing strategies for creating a supportive virtual environment. This fully online educational endeavor equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of women's sexual health in a virtual setting.
